WVIP Automated Parking

// Case studies

The problem, the system, the result

Anonymized from real WVIP engagements. Each pairs a site constraint with the platform that solved it.

01 Fully Automated

Condo tower

Problem
A downtown high-rise lost too much saleable area to a ramped below-grade garage.
Solution
A fully automated shuttle tower removed ramps and drive aisles entirely.
Result
More stalls in less excavation; ground floor freed for amenity.
02 Semi-Automated

Mid-rise residential

Problem
A tight infill site couldn't hit its required stall count conventionally.
Solution
Platform pallets stored cars two-deep within the existing footprint.
Result
Stall target met without expanding the structure.
03 Mechanical Stackers

Retrofit

Problem
An existing garage needed more capacity without new construction.
Solution
Independent stackers added a second level of parking in place.
Result
Capacity roughly doubled within the same slab.
04 Vehicle Turntables

Luxury residence

Problem
A narrow driveway forced unsafe reversing onto a busy street.
Solution
A flush-mount turntable enabled a clean forward exit.
Result
Safer egress with no change to the building envelope.
05 Car Lifts

Mixed-use

Problem
Vertical vehicle movement was eating floor area to ramps.
Solution
A car lift moved vehicles between levels at the footprint of the car.
Result
Floor area recovered for leasable space.
06 Bike Parking

Transit-oriented

Problem
A development near transit needed secure, high-capacity bike storage.
Solution
An automated bike system stored cycles in a fraction of the racks' space.
Result
Higher capacity and LEED support in a smaller room.
Sample structure

Final case studies — figures, sites, and outcomes — will be written from WVIP's sample proposals and signed off before launch (CLAUDE.md §2/§8).
